The American Medical Association (AMA) released the latest CPT code set, effective January 1, 2027. This annual update has 453 total editorial changes, including 299 new codes, 74 revisions, and 80 deletions. Dr. Jaibalaji (aka JB) is a healthcare RCM and medical coding transformation leader with extensive experience in medical coding, quality management, product strategy, and technology-enabled transformation. As Executive Director, Medical Coding Quality & Transformation at AGS Health, he leads strategic initiatives focused on coding quality, operational excellence, process transformation, and the adoption of emerging technologies across medical coding.

He has a proven track record of driving large-scale quality improvement initiatives, developing technology-enabled coding solutions, and translating complex operational and regulatory requirements into practical strategies for coding teams and healthcare organizations. A Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with AAPC, Dr. Jaibalaji also holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva. His doctoral research focused on the impact of technology-based Clinical Documentation Improvement programs from the perspective of medical coders.
