The list of top vendors was based on Black Book’s survey of 11,550 revenue cycle, finance, and IT professionals across hospitals, health systems, physician practices, ancillary providers, and post-acute facilities. According to Black Book, its survey underscores the rapid surge in demand for outsourced RCM solutions, finding that 83 percent of hospitals and 91 percent of large physician groups plan to expand or initiate third-party RCM partnerships within the next year—a significant increase from 68 percent in 2023. Additionally, 77 percent of current users of outsourced RCM identified their partners as crucial for financial sustainability, mainly driven by persistent staff shortages, rising claim denials, and shrinking margins.
